An outdoorsy city ranking among the world’s most livable, Vancouver is sheltered by Vancouver Island and the Pacific Range mountains. Skirting this park is the Seawall, a popular biking trail with paths passing the Vancouver Aquarium, picnic spots and a pitch ‘n’ putt course. There are also a couple of beaches, but the best ones are along English Bay in Kitsilano.
Granville Island is just across False Creek from Yaletown and houses some quirky shops and markets. Ferries depart from here to near BC Place Stadium and home ground of the city’s football and American football teams. The legendary Vancouver Canucks ice hockey team play next door at Rogers Arena.
With the largest Chinatown in North America, Gastown is the oldest part of Vancouver and is near the Canada Place cruise ship terminal.

I found that the best areas to visit were away from the city, such as Whistler, Grose Mountain, the Capilano Suspension Bridge and Nth Vancouver.
Chinatown and surrounding area was not good with lots of people lying around in the streets. This whole area needs to be cleaned up as it is bad for locals as well as tourists who can no longer visit this area.
Catching the SeaBus and the local bus system was very good as is the good number of Uber drivers which are a great help to getting around the city. Also Granville Island, especially the market is a lovely place to visit.

This is a beautiful city with loads of attractions, I found it was a very drivable city, parking is expensive but accessible, there are free shuttles to activities like Capilano Swing Bridge and Grouse Mountain. The Canada line goes from the airport into the city with a day pass costing 13.25 for adults, the cruise port is also accessible from this line. We did the Hop on Hop off bus to most of the city’s best attractions like Granville Island Market and Stanley Park. I look forward to visiting Vancouver again. Wildlife and Nature abound.

Food:
1. Mr Shawarma at Burrard station.
Food:
1. Mr Shawarma at Burrard station. Best shawarma in the city by far, and the cheapest. Usually cheap is "meh" but this outclasses anything the city has to offer.
2. Mount Everest - fantastic hakka.
3. Gastronomy. Great pizza
Places to go:
1. Stanley Park - no explanation needed. Do NOT rely on the Shaw/Mobi bikes. Rent bikes thru other means
2. Queen Elizabeth Park
3. Bloedel conservatory
4. Van Dussen Botanical
5. China Town - Dirty, full of homeless people
6. Burnaby - Metropolis mall - Biggest mall in BC
7. Gas town - vibes and that silly steam clock
8. Canada place and the harbor - nice views
9. Granville Island - cool vibes, hippy spot
10. Richmond - I can tell it's a nice place to go, but I haven't had the chance.
Transportation & Getting around town - Buy a day pass for $11.25, allowing you to travel by bus, sky train, and ferry to north van, unlimited uses for that particular day. Downtown Vancouver is super walkable.

We used the hop on hop off bus one day to get around which was easy and you could easily know when the next bus would arrive.
Apparently over 50% do not have English as their first language so some people had trouble understanding us, so we just spoke slower.
We loved Stanley Gardens, the Steam clock, the Architecture and amazing mountains in the distance.
We mainly ate at the Inn where the food was delicious.
Is was sad to see the homeless people though and one chap in particular who was bent over in half and had to stop every 100 meters or so to rest.

A beautiful city that is easily walkable and felt very safe.
A beautiful city that is easily walkable and felt very safe. Close to the mountains the scenery is stunning. We ate at Cactus Club cafe by the harbour which was lovely, Coras for breakfast which is a diner style, the food was plentiful and very delicious and Joeys which was nice enough but service not great. Lots to see and do we enjoyed an evening stroll along the harbour front and hired bikes to cycle round Stanley Park and to Granville Island (cycle lanes everywhere so very easy to do). We were only there for a couple of days before and after a cruise but would definitely visit again.

A lovely place to explore , nice weather during in the month of April and explore all varieties of food. Corniche side was amazing. People from airport up to hotel very accomodating and friendly. Looking forward to visit again .
The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room-cleaning was exceptional and housekeeping needs to be congratulated for this! The breakfast buffet was very adequate. At first I was concerned at the location as I had expected a downtown hotel. However, it ended up being an ideal location, surrounded by many eateries, stores, supermarkets, near the Metro to downtown, and a wonderful waterfront walkway, which led to Granville Island and beyond. I would definitely recommend the location as it gave me more personal choice and independence.
This hotel is awesome! We will be back for sure. Right from the start we were greeted by a very nice gentleman who came to our car and offered us a luggage cart, and set us up for the parking garage. The staff at the front desk were lovely as well. We were able to park our car, and check in early so we could do some exploring before the hockey game at Rogers arena which is just steps away. Nespresso machine in the room was awesome, a very clean and comfortable stay. 10/10 recommend, a very affordable hotel for downtown Vancouver.
Great location on Robson St - easy walking to everywhere. Stayed on the 28th floor & could see 5 snow-capped mountains from the lounge chair :) Our room was big, very comfortable & clean. Serviced every day & the staff were fabulous. We felt safe, at home & had everything we needed (except laundry facilities) for our 8 day stay.
HIGHLY recommend the hotel, especially the location. If we ever come back to Vancouver, I wouldn't hesitate staying at the Blue Horizon hotel again.
Has everything you need for a basic stay! Best price in downtown Vancouver with a great location! This is the second time we've stayed at the days Inn and we had a great experience each time. There's so much within walking distance or take a 5-10min Uber or taxi ride to get you anywhere else in downtown Vancouver. The rooms have everything you need with a free breakfast in the morning. Highly recommend if you're looking to find just a basic hotel room at the best price.
We stayed 3 nights pre-cruise & really enjoyed the hotel & the great location. It's close to the Harbour so you can walk to the port. From the airport, it's an easy skytrain ride to the waterfront & then a short walk to the hotel. Everything is so walkable in the area. The staff were friendly & professional. The rooms were nice & very comfortable. The onsite restaurant was affordable & very pleasant. We will definitely return the next time we're in Vancouver
This was the best location we could have asked for while visiting Vancouver for a few days. The hotel room was immaculate and very clean. Our only complaint was that a lot of water spills out of the shower door during/after showering meaning a wet bathroom floor, however housekeeping ensured we always had an adequate number of fresh towels available so it wasn’t really an issue. I appreciated the coffee machine and water bottle refills.
Great location, very nice staff and overall good environment. Samesun is much better than the other hostels in downtown. If you are traveling solo, or if you have never stayed in a hostel before, Samesun Vancouver is the best choice. Their breakfast is good (keep in mind it is a hostel, not a hotel) and their free tours are a great way to explore the city and meet new people. Highly recommended!
This was a perfect hotel for anyone doing the Vancouver Marathon - nice and quiet for getting a good pre-race sleep and only about 4 blocks from the Vancouver City Centre Skytrain station to get to the 41st and Oak marathon startline. About $100 less than the cheapest downtown hotel, yet a private room at Samsun feels the same as a hotel.
Excellent situation for exploring waterfront, shops & general downtown area. Well run hotel, all staff were helpful & friendly. Starbucks handy in the lobby. Rooms were large and well appointed with super comfy bed. Good breakfast buffet, a little pricey but similar to most hotels. Would definitely stay here again if in Vancouver.
Great location in downtown Vancouver. You can walk to just about anywhere, including Stanley Park. Good restaurants nearby. The room was large with expansive windows, and even a balcony! The bathroom was also large with a great shower. The whole hotel appears to have been recently renovated. Fast elevators. Solid security.
We always love the ease of this hotel; friendly staff, cute outdoor activities and lounge area. Rooms are always clean and bed is comfy! It's easy walking distance from most everything downtown Vancouver and has great parking if you do need to bring a vehicle!
The room was modern and clean. In a quiet area of the hotel. The location was central and close to shops and eateries. The staff was friendly and very helpful. I would stay there again while in Downtown Vancouver.
Everything! Could not have found a better hotel for this price. Best sleep I've had in months, loved the bedding. Courteous, respectful, Knowledgeable staff. 1 block from Canada place Port of Vancouver
The location in downtown Vancouver was lovely, and the decor/atmostphere of the hotel was very tasteful. The quality of food in the restaurant was very good.
