The hotel is a rural country inn surrounded on three sides by farm fields. The pool is very nice and well maintained. It was a hot day so the first thing we did after arriving at the hotel was to take a dip in the pool. Later the same day we had a beautifully presented and delicious meal on the patio of the restaurant. It was so quiet and peaceful that we could hear the flames of the hot air balloons floating by in the distance. The views are amazing! While we were eating outside on the patio, we had a view of the gardens of Marqueyssac and Castlenaud-la-chapelle. The menu was all from local farms.
The owners Lydie and Giles were very kind and helpful. We took a train from Bordeaux to Sarlat and then a taxi to the hotel. Taxi service is difficult to use here. We had reservations to take a canoe trip down the Dordogne starting at Dome but no way to get there. Lydie tried four different taxi services and they were all not available. She then spoke with her husband Giles, who is also the chef, and he gave us a ride to Dome in his own car and refused to accept any money. While we were at Canoe Loisirs, Giles spoke to the manager and arranged for them to take us back to the hotel. It was very gracious of him to do that for us.

All the common areas are very clean and cosy. The room was really comfortable. Breakfast is great value for the price. The staff were always really helpful and nice.
Everything about the hotel is amazing, one of the best hotels I have stayed at. Location on the river just outside the village is perfect, so peaceful. We stayed in the annex and had our own private garden area to relax. The owner makes the hotel experience superb she provides exceptional service with a smile. We heard the breakfast was incredible and had it on our last morning and it was the best breakfast I have had at any hotel, we had it at a small table by the pool overlooking the river, what a treat.
our room was on the third floor and had fabulous views of 2 of the 5 chateaus. the bed was comfortable and it was quiet. we used the pool after a long day driving and sightseeing and walkingwe had dinner the first night and the hotel and it was really lovely . The second night we went out to explore and had a very nice dinner in Beynac. the area is beautiful with lots of amazing villages to visit. recommend this place to stay.
What an unexpected gem in an idyllic location. The owners were lovely and the hotel is charming. The garden and pool area is stunning. Breakfast was a feast every morning and it is so convenient to walk into la rouge gageac, go canoeing on the dordogne river or drive to nearby sites. Air conditioning in the room during the heat wave, and onsite car parking, were bonuses.
Good location, fabulous breakfast (not included in price we paid for the room). Bravo L’Oustal de Vezac for having a good brand of loose leaf tea and wonderful infusers in fine glass mugs, best tea I’ve had in a long time. My friend said the coffee was very good also. Nice little outdoor terrace with lovely views accessed from room.
Perfect place! The best hotel we stayed in of all the hotels in the whole world! The hospitality, the welcome, the kindness, the professionalism, the amazing design combined with maximum comfort, a breathtaking view, a perfect breakfast and above all the attitude and kindness of the charming owners!
Everything! Very comfortable spacious room and bathroom. Private entrance. Great location. Alice is the sweetest! Enjoyed the amazing breakfast and enjoyed chatting with Alice during breakfast. Nothing about this felt like a hotel but staying with a chateau in the country.
This is a family owned hotel, and nothing is too much trouble. We received plenty of information about the hotel's amenties. It is a great location, overlooking the Dordogne. Plenty of activities in the area, very beautiful place, with lots of nice places to eat locally.
Comfort, quiet place, good breakfast, friendly staff, and perfect location to go around and visit touristic places. We recommend the hotel for families looking for a good hotel near Sarrlat.
